ZOO SUMMER CAMPS 2024
JULY & AUGUST
Dublin Zoo's summer camps are designed for children aged 7 – 12 years old to have fun learning about the animals at Dublin Zoo, getting an introduction to conservation and gaining an overall appreciation for wildlife. This weeklong camp includes exciting hands-on activities, craft projects and adventures through the Zoo (no direct contact with animals).
Time: 10.00am - 2.30pm daily Monday to Friday
Age: 7 - 12 years (children will be assigned to age-related groups)
Cost: €155 (annual pass holders) €162 (non-annual pass holders)
Week 1: 22nd - 26th July SOLD OUT*
Week 2: 29th July - 2nd August
Week 3: 5th - 9th August (this includes the bank holiday Monday)

IMPORTANT:
- The workshop content is the same each week. We recommend purchasing only one week;
- Children will be split into groups according to age;
- Children will need to bring a packed lunch and snacks each day;
- You will receive an email prior to the workshop with any additional information, at least one week in advance;
- If you are booking with an Annual pass please note that when the tickets are in your basket there is no need to add your Annual pass card number at this point as the ticket is already disocunted. This information will be requested in the next stage of the booking;

Book nowDublin Zoo’s DES approved week-long summer course 2024: ‘Cultivating the Next Generation of Conservationists’.
This course aims to provide participants with active engagement in teaching and learning about Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) with an emphasis on conservation education. It provides participants with the skills, knowledge and confidence to teach about nature and conservation in their classrooms. The course will assist teachers in fostering positive connections to nature in their classrooms and motivating their students towards pro-environmental actions.
Topics will be delivered by expert facilitators in our Discovery and Learning Centre and from our immersive living classroom, the grounds of Dublin Zoo. Teachers participating will have exclusive access to our state-of-the-art teaching spaces as well as the opportunity to explore the zoo after the daily programme.
Note: this course is aimed at those who teach 3rd – 6th class.
We will have two separate weeks available to book. The content will be the same each week, we do not recommend booking both weeks. Please note that your ticket will be valid only for the date you book. We will do our best to accommodate changes to your booking but cannot guarantee a switch will be available. Please note that we cannot offer refunds for cancelled or unused tickets.

The course will run from 10am – 3pm each day
Your three EPV days are granted upon completion of the full 5 days of the course. Any deviation from this may result in the loss of some, or all, of your EPV days. Dinosaur Discovery - Family Experience
INCLUDES ADMISSION TO DUBLIN ZOO

Duration: 1 hour and 15 minutes

Calling all Dinosaur-exploring families. Come on a journey of discovery to Zoorassic World and look back in time at reptiles that lived on this planet long ago and see some of those living today. Meet Stan, our full-size Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton, and learn all about this fearsome predator. Learn about the missing link that connects birds and dinosaurs. Step inside Dinosaur Discovery to carry out your very own dinosaur dig. Using specialist tools, you will uncover fossils that once belonged to these ancient reptiles

Wild Behaviour Family Workshops

Duration: 75 minutes
Ages: 4 – 10 year olds and their parents/guardians
Come along for a fun and interactive family workshop to learn about the animals at Dublin Zoo: the different behaviours they show, how we care for them and how we make sure they are kept active and stimulated in their environment. Each session will cover a different topic related to animal behaviour.

Parent and Toddler Sessions
Start your children on their wildlife learning journey at our Parent and Toddler mornings in Dublin Zoo. Toddlers will get an opportunity to learn more about our wonderful wildlife through stories, crafts and visits to some of our habitats. Each week has a different theme, see details below. Join us for a fun hands-on family learning experience where you will discover lots about nature. ‘Forest Families’ takes place in our wonderful nature haven called the Wild Space in Dublin Zoo.
Forest Families is open to families with children aged between 4 and 12. In each session you will have facilitation from an expert teacher and learn about lots of follow up activities to do in your local area.
